The Great Physician

It is easy to get all caught up in this theory and that theory as it relates to becoming healthy people.  The first step we must take is accepting Christ as Lord of our lives.  We must surrender our will to His and allow the poweful work of the Holy Spirit, through the use of God's Word, to work in our lives.  If we simply apply the biblical principles into our everday lives we will immediately see the change take place.  Some change takes time and God will use whatever our shortcomings are to reveal who He is and who we are in Him.  I am a child of God, I am a saint, I am His ambassador and must strive to live out this new identity that He gave me according to His Word.  The only way I can be successful is continue to develop that love relationship with God and know that He loves me just as I am and loves me enough not to keep me their. The enemy will continue to tell you lies about who you are and that God really doesn't love you but be warned. He is the father of lies and the great accuser of the bretheren.   Blessing in the Mighty Name of Yeshua.

Existential Therapy

In discovering new approaches of integrating secular psychological thought into Christian Counseling I have found that Existential Therapy has some value in its approach to Christian Counseling.  When looking at this type of therapy we can see that its focus is purely on the individual.  We are in essence 'free' and have a responsibility for our own lives.  This type of thought can be found in the teachings of Jesus.  We can see as believer's in The Way that God wants us to look inward and see if there is any sin within our own hearts that needs to be dealt with.  When we face the trials of life we tend to place our focus on the outward circumstances and forget to look to our own behavior and take ownership of it.  Our circumstances may bring us hurt and pain but how we respond to them is critical to our personal healing and growth.

Assimilation:  I will pray and seek the guidance of the Holy Spirit to help me understand more of this concept as it relates to my own life.  The ultimate end is to learn how to take a personal inventory and be as honest and truthful as possible before a Holy God and deal with those things that the Holy Spirit reveals to me.  I am ultimately responsible for what I say, think, and do and it must line up with the Word of God....be holy as I am holy...God said it...I must pursue it.
